Insane, and alright with that
Hi! I'm an engineering major, Potterhead, Whovian, Nerdfighter... My ramblings, general nerdiness, food, books, poetry, and artsy-craftsy things.
I will stop your mouth.: TEA RULES.
My understanding of tea etiquette in Britain is:
OFFER YOUR GUEST TEA AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE - GIVE THEM THE LARGER MUG, BECAUSE THEN THEY CAN HAVE MORE TEA IN IT, AND MORE TEA IS BETTER - OFFER THEM MORE TEA AS SOON AS THEY HAVE FINISHED THEIR MUG OF TEA, BECAUSE MORE TEA IS…
In the faraway here and now
I’ve become in control somehow
And I never lose my wallet
Because I will be the picture of discipline
Never fucking up anything
And I’ll be a good defensive driver
And it’s funny how I imagined that I would be that person now
But it does not seem to have happened
Maybe I’ve just forgotten how to see
That I’ll never be the person that I thought I’d be Amanda Palmer (In My Mind)
May be the best song about pubic hair ever… I mean, I would have to listen to some others for comparison, but I’m pretty sure it can only go downhill from here…

At this precise moment, John Green might be my favorite person on this planet.
I mean, to be fair, that status will probably soon shift back to the usual suspects of, you know, people I actually know. But the most recent vlogbrothers video was amazing. As in, hilarious, and real, and things I wish people had said more when I was in high school, and things about which I still need to be reminded. I’m probably excited about it because he says a lot of things that I think a lot, that people look at me like I’m crazy for expressing. So, you know, affirmation that I’m not crazy. From a man talking to a camera about young adults’ sex questions while sitting in an airport…
George R.R. Martin on writing women
- George Stroumboulopoulos: There's one thing that's interesting about your books. I noticed that you write women really well and really different. Where does that come from?
- George R.R. Martin: You know, I've always considered women to be people.
e.e. cummings, “maggie and milly and molly and may”
maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach(to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn’t remember her troubles, and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose(like a you or a me)
it’s always ourselves we find in the sea
Nikki Giovanni, “Being and Nothingness”
(to quote a philosopher)
i haven’t done anything
meaningful in so long
it’s almost meaningful
to do nothing
i suppose i could fall in love
or at least in line
since i’m so discontented
but that takes effort
and i don’t want to exert anything
neither my energy nor my emotions
i’ve always prided myself
on being a child of the sixties
and we are all finished
so that makes being
nothing(submitted by meterandprose)
